Our first matric class sets high standard

Academia ‘s matric class of 2012, the first in the history of the school, set a very high benchmark for the future. Forty-seven of the the original 54 learners entered for the exam passed . Three learners did not complete the exam giving an overall pass rate of 92.1%.  The top 2 students were Michelle lê Roux, who also achieved 3 distinctions, and Michelle Hayes.

A total of 8 distinctions were achieved in

  • Afrikaans
  • Hospitality studies
  • Life Orientation(4)
  • Mathematical Literacy
  • Tourism

Well done to all the matriculants that passed and good luck to the others with the supplemental exams next year. If you work hard you can ensure an ultimate 100 percent pass rate.

The principal and his staff also deserve a pat on the back for all the dedication and hard work, including extra-mural classes that went a long way in ensuring a successful first matric class that the whole Gansbaai community can be proud of.

To the matriculants of 2013, a high standard have been set, and so work extra hard to achieve our first 100 percent class!
